“Whirlers” is a descriptor for patterned discs, made from paper, card or wood, designed to spin and be viewed in order to experience a changing image over time. Alberto started working with these in the mid 1960s and returned to them repeatedly in later decades. An exhibition of whirlers, “Time”, was made at Tim Melville Gallery in 2023. Alberto’s booklet “Time” accompanying that exhibition is also available for viewing.
