Alberto passed away suddenly on 1 September 2026, at the age of 98 years. Alberto was steadfast in his commitment to living life on his own terms, and he was able to die in that way as well: in his home, at home, with dignity, in the arms of one of his sons. Despite his increasingly feeble condition he was able to work in his studio until just a few days before he passed.
